Spring is......not quite here

The first day of spring is next week (March 20th) but I think someone forgot to tell Mother Nature that bit of news. It is cold (32 degrees or there abouts) and we're under a winter storm warning from this evening until tomorrow afternoon. Arrgghhh!!! I really would like to get out in my yard & flowerbeds - they look horrid right now.

The dh is doing well. His medical retirement was the BEST thing he has done for himself (besides marrying me!). Not being around a lot of people during the winter has kept him in far better health than he was in last year at this time.

The Army son is well. He's been transferred to a new squad (same division, etc., just a different group) and he is really excited about the change. He is now in the HET squad (Heavy Equipment Transporters). There are pictures & even a video at the Oshkosh site if you're interested. It is pretty amazing. He has his own truck and he is responsible for everything with that vehicle - maintenance, fuel, driving it, etc. The best part (in Mom's opinion anyway) is that he will be going out on fewer missions instead of more!! Woohoo!! BTW, the prayers are working so keep them coming.

My dad just turned 73 yesterday and our oldest daughter turns 31 tomorrow. The Army son will turn 23 in Baghdad at the end of the month. March is a heavy birthday month for us including friends and family. I try to remember everyone I love & at least send a card so they know they are in our thoughts. If I forget to send a card, please don't think I don't care....life is pretty hectic at the moment (like it ever slows down!!).

We are going to be very busy this year between a family reunion in Ohio, an Alpha-1 national conference in St. Louis, MO (both in June); a charity golf tourney in Boise, ID to help support the Idaho Alpha-1 support group (August); and then an Idaho education day also in Boise, ID (October). Mmmm, I may find time to work at my job too!! Actually my job is keeping me very busy as well. I swore I would never ever be a programmer....well, I was wrong. I don't classify myself as a programmer just yet but I've learned the Perl programming language and am currently learning C# (see-sharp). It is very challenging but I am thoroughly enjoying it. I am hoping to take a couple of classes over the next few months to get even more knowledge of this powerful language.

I could probably go on and on but I'll cut this one short and just wish everyone a very Happy St. Patrick's Day -

May the leprechauns be near you.
To spread luck along your way.
And may all the Irish angels,
Smile upon you on St. Patrick's Day.

Until next time - God bless.
